"I've been staying up until 1 or 2 am to watch games and this last one was a struggle, I've made it through, though, and actually think it was the best match I've seen since the New Year. The rest have been really dreadful. Before the 'pool match though, I was wondering. Do I really want to watch a nil-nil draw? I just had the feeling it would end that way and I have the feeling its going to be like that until the end of the season. We will probably not score more than two goals again. With the excitement and hope gone, I feel an old friend has moved away"

"Maybe I'm wrong, Wilhelm, but I think the magic can and will return - next season. I see it this way; under Hughes, City were a bright, box-girder bridge spanning the river of success. I liked this bridge, but there did appear to be some issues with the fundamental structure - given time (and more cash), I suspect that these problems could have been overcome. Rightly or wrongly, the owners also noted that the bridge, although pretty to look at and capable of doing the basic job, wasn't going to last, and was in fact showing possible signs of failure. Therefore, ADUG decided to hire a new engineer to rebuild the bridge but requested that he do so using the bulk of the old steel. The shrewd engineer realized that this bridge needed to be reassembled and redesigned, but having limited resources meant that the resulting structure was not particularly easy on the eye, being a basic, but sturdy design. It remains to be seen if the engineer can create a blend of art and science, but I think that the foundation he has built is sound, and with money to spend on new material in the summer, we could have the Golden Gate Bridge on our hands, although in sky blue. The old friend will be back, better than ever".
